Esteghlal striker Arash Borhani set a new club record in the Iran Professional League (IPL) on Sunday.

Borhani took his tally to 87 goals during last 10 seasons of Iranian football league. Sunday’s goal against Malavan of Bandar Anzali put him one goal above Reza Enayati, who currently plays for Sepahan of Isfahan.

Borhani had scored 33 goals for Pas in the previous editions of IPL. He also netted 55 goals for Esteghlal.
Borhani joined Esteghlal in 2007 after one season playing with Al Nasr of the UAE. “I   could not score as expected in my first season but the Esteghlal fans never gave up on me. I will continue my career with the team and focus to score more goals,” Borhani said.

On Sunday, Sepahan of Isfahan sealed its third IPL championship with one week left, followed by Esteghlal and Zob Ahan.
